Defining Your Passion

Greetings this week! (sorry for being a couple days behind….busy with real work; but no excuse). Funny that I wrote about PASSION last week. I was at our annual Professional Photographers of America convention and had the opportunity to spend time with a number of our top professionals (I’m also a professional photographer), and listened to them describe the PASSION for their art. Some were even so bold to say PASSION should come first, then business. Now I’m not recommending that module; but it can definitely work if that’s what you’re going for. Pushing ones self by not providing any escape route makes you think differently than only dipping your finger in the water.

Some people have commented that it’s best if you jump into the water both feet first. Either you will rise to the surface and breath the air again; or you’ll drown. Kind of dramatic, but similar in the thought process.

So this weeks assignment is to describe your passion; remember you were supposed to find where your passion was at the end of last weeks post. We’ve already looked at dreams and goals (which you should have started writing down by now); so this is just another piece of the puzzle. By looking closely at your life; what are you passionate about? Is it your job, your art, your family or something else. Allow your mind to really think about this and what are you excited about everyday?

We live in a modern world where almost anything is possible. The old adage, “What the Mind can conceive and believe it can achieve” is just as true today. You don’t have to settle for less. More is always and option and the glass is always half full.

So now that you’ve thought about it; are you living your passion? Or are you wishing your life was different? You CAN live your passion. Take the time to write down your passions and then tie them in with your goals and dreams. Too many people spend a lifetime trying to find their passion. I challenge you to find your passion and LIVE it everyday!

Until next week…
